This small Puma gentleman's folder came from the unsold stock of a long gone knife- and fishing shop in the Netherlands, and it was dated by Europe's premier Puma collector www.Pumahunter.de as being made in the 1930's.
The knife is still new and unused.

the germans & english were masters in putting very slim stag scales on smaller knives. this one is a prime example.

Wow!

Dennis is right; the Germans and English knew how to make exquisite little knives with stag. And this one is exquisite. Maybe I'll throw in another wow just the heck of it.

Wow!

Carl.

Stainless steel in the '30s?

Yes, in Delhi indea there's s iron pilar erected AD 400 that is still basicly rust free after 1600 years.. but alloys that would consider today stainless steel appeared sometimes prior 1910 if my memory services correct.

On topic. Now that is beautiful knife. I cannot even believe its 70 years old. Congratulations for having such great piece of beauty! Very big thanks for sharing it with us!!

Yes to the stainless. Queen started using SS in 1917, and it was first used in England 3 years before that. Pretty sure the Germans had it right after WWI.

What a beautiful knife!! Congratulations on such a great find. I am so drawn to the German knives made in the first half on the 20th century and what outstanding Stag they had.

Fantastic discovery, you must be pleased.

Very unusual shape with some top drawer stag, impressive too are the sunken joints. I dream of finding a derelict shop that time has passed by, inside are stag and bone riches! Fantasy is often more appealing than reality.....

Now that IS a true gentlemans folder.
Gorgeous!
Congratulations to such a wonderful find.
