Scott recently spent some time with Jason Knight honing his knife making skills prior to completing his Journeyman test knives. The result of three days work at Jason's shop is the Puma "Knight Owl".

Puma "Knight Owl"
Steel: W2 with hamon
Overall Length: 11 1/4 inches
Blade Length: 6 1/4 inches
Handle: Stabilized Curly Walnut
Guard: 416 Stainless Steel
Sheath: Custom leather

The blade is all Scott, was forged out of W2, has a Japanese style hamon, and is as graceful and predatory as the cat for which it was named. The handle has a lot of Jason's influence, and the knife was completed during some late night sessions in Jason's shop, so we're calling this Puma the "Knight Owl" version.

Let us know what you think.

I like everything about that knife, and producing a blade and knife that show a strong Jason Knight influence is a very good thing, IMO.

Congratulations on a beautiful piece!

Wow, AMAZING lines...what a LOOKER!

BTW, I'm kind of new in the "Big Kids" forum. I take it you're not Scott?! Are you his ________? THANKS for posting the reports!

All the best, Phil

I love this knife. Scott is learning well and Jason is an astounding teacher. (So I have witnessed).

Lydia, you voice is always welcome and worthy. Sign when you do?

Very clear shot, too. That's Lydia's work. :)

Good post.

Thanks Coop. You're a great teacher too. I haven't arrived as a knife photographer yet, but I'm not done learning and tips from the master are always welcome:)

Lydia

PS Scott says thanks too, and that learning is a slow, painful, and wonderful process.

Scott, ( and Lydia),

That's a beautiful and truly predatory looking blade. The complex grind, almost a saber grind, with that big clip swooping down is really something. Scott's blades are always alive.

Jason's a great teacher and major influence on a lot of folks, and that's a good thing.

John
