Reaching out over here on the forum to ask if anyone is familiar with a Puma "General" lockback knife and what the value in lightly used condition might be?

Thanks

This is from the sub-forum guidelines sticky (my emphasis)

"In order to curtail potential abuse of membership privileges associated with the forums, questions regarding valuation of knives and collections are limited to those with a membership level which permits selling on this site. Accordingly, registered and basic members may not start or post in threads with such requests whether with the intent to sell or for informational purposes only.
Even with that caveat, the Traditional forum is probably not the proper venue for such questions and such threads may be moved to a more appropriate area of the site."

Try sold listings on the bay.
Ignore the highest and lowest, average out the rest.

I appreciate it. I kind of did that but there was not really a good used comp to work from. Many new in box but it was all over the pl;ace and as a long time BF member here I just felt like someone here could give me some additional insight as a reference. I am just not knowledgeable about production pieces like this, but a I am about a lot of Traditional Customs...

thanks

There's also another large knife forum you could check.
Right now they only show one that's preowned and asking right smack dab just about the original price.

He's Gold, IIRC Gold members are allowed to ask $ questions on any subforum.

The General sells new for around $125.

Lightly used is a pretty subjective term... I've seen knives that were described as 'lightly used' range anywhere from near mint to grinder-marked messes. It's not a knife with a lot of collector value, in my opinion, and there probably isn't a big market for a user.

Thank you a bunch. That is good feedback. It is in nearer new than used condition but I agree with your comment. Thanks.

You don't say what the covers are or the year. Older and stag>micarta>unknown synthetic. German made is collectible to many.

I have a 1986 version and it's big but can be pocket carried. I like it a lot more than my 110, thinner blade, more acute tip, good all around knife. Easy to open one handed. It was my gateway to fine knives, bought it in celebration of an important promotion. I've used it so much the lockback tab is worn.
