Oh, name blast from the past. The Pumas I remember were traditional blades.
I handled a few Pumas at a knife show a year or two ago. Many of the blades were 1.4*** or 440C. The prices seemed high although I admittedly don't know much about the 1.4**** stuff. Most of the fixed blades I remember were wood handles which I don't like. I admittedly like a G10/micarta. I find wood handles can get slick and if not stabilized properly, can chip or crack. I would guess Puma does it right. They've been around a long time.
