I have the following knives :
Small Chinese made Buck stockman type .
Camillus stockman Rough Tobacco .
Arthur Fulmer stockman ,marked "Japan "
Steel Warrior saddlehorn
And the excellent Boker canoe type.

I recently bought a Puma stockman with stag (?) scales .This knife is supposedly German made ,opens and closes with very little snap and the blades have some lateral play in the joints .Is there any way of tightening up these joints .I think I read somewhere that it could be done using a light hammer .I'm reluctant to spoil the knife's good looks so any information would be useful.Incidentally this knife does not live with the Boker ,or the Steel warrior ,for quality

I have fixed a number of lateral wobbles by wrapping the bolster so it won't scratch, laying the knife on a hard surface like an anvil, and gently tapping it few times with a small hammer, checking to see how it's tightened, continuing tapping and checking until it's good.

If the pivot pin comes through (probably the opposite side of the bolster) you would have to file it down and use a high grit sandpaper to get the finish back.
