I was considering a Puma skinner from Bass pro. I see many folks seem to think that the quality is not there. Is there anyone that uses one of the new ones that can give honest imput. How do they compare with a Case slabside or a Buck 119?

I own a New puma bowie, well made knife good steel very nice sheath. The handle is a little akward for me as I have large hands, and on the bowie at least the blade is left a little thick toward the edge for my taste, the skinner may be more finely ground.I don't own a case slabside, but I do own many case knives and can say that the steel in the Puma is better than their tru-sharp.I do own a buck 119,the steel in the buck is comprable during normal use,and to me the buck handles much more naturaly.

If I liked the design of the knife,I wouldn't hesitate to buy it,but me personaly I would take a marbles, queen,or buck over a puma. But due partly to have had 3 lock back pumas that were defective. But at least on a fixed blade their are no moving parts.

A lot of help huh:o
