Guys

I've got a Puma White Hunter and a Randall Model 14 and was looking for some opinions. I'm refining my B.O.B (bug out bag) and was wondering which of these two you'd prefer in an all around survival situation? Looking forward to hearing what ya'll think.

P.S. Merry Christmas

I happen to really respect and like both of those choices.

But if forced to choose [ why not both ? ] then I go with the Randall as it might be a better choice for all around use = imnsho that is.

Randall 14 for me too. I had one in the 80's but unfortunatly sold it. I even used it on a ten pointer i harvested. It was a little big for the job but handled it none the less quite well.

Both knives will serve you well.

I would opt for the Randall Made Knife. :p

My BOB carries BlackJack HALO Attack with Border Patrol style handle.

...modded to sport a single quillian guard.

Seems like an overwhelming vote for Randall. I've used it a few times in the field and like it a lot but it's been a bit big when handling downed game. The only thing I know about the Randall is what I read on their site but it sounds like it's extremely well built.

I'm thinking of adding a good multi tool to compliment the Randall. If you have first hand experience and suggestions with one and don't mind sharing your thoughts send them my way. Again keep the B.O.B and survival thought in mind when suggesting. Thanks again.

I use a White Hunter as my main large survival Knife. I love them . Have 4.

I think the Mod 14 is more of a combat blade.
The white Hunter has seen service with the German armed forces & was very popular in the Vietnam war with Australian & US troops.

Its a great chopper & procesor of game. You can skin deer with it. I think you will find its a top blade.
The only thing i think is the small saw teeth should be removed for making trap sears. But i use a F1 fot that .

Another vote for the White Hunter, especially the old ones. I really like the Randall, but it is too collectible.
