Pumaster steel modern equivalent

I am particular impressed by the old pumaster steel blades in older Pumas. I could put a razors edge on it, it was easy to sharpen, excellent edge retention. In short, fantastic for a hunting knife field dressing elk or moose.
If it still exists, what technical designation would that steel be? What is the closest modern equivalent?

This is from Puma in 1998:


It looks like Pumaster steel (at least at that time) was Böhler NWN 80.

Part of what made Puma so good was the drop forging and a good heat treat. Even their standard stainless (DIN1.4110) is equivalent to 440B, but in my testing it definitely outperformed some of my 440C blades (testing done before the current era of super steels).
 
I had a nice collection of Pumas from the early 80s, all stag handled, both fixed and folders. They were indeed great knives that performed well. The old ones were very nice knives. Didn't know the composition of Pumaster steel but it did perform well, especially in its era. Regret selling the collection.

Hi. What is the "pumaster" material of some type of Puma knives, is it "Stainless steel? Thanks
