Pumpkin and squash seeds

Now is the time of year when these gourds are plentiful and delicious, but some folks don't know about the health benefits of the seeds. Loaded with zinc which helps you fight colds and infections. Not to mention they taste great.
They are easy to prepare, Wash off the membrane and goo in a strainer with running water. Pat dry with a paper towel, season as you wish (we use a bit of salt, black pepper, garlic powder and onion powder) put them in a small frying pan with a little oil over medium heat, and stir constantly until they're golden brown and start to pop. Cool on another paper towel to absorb any excess oil and enjoy. You won't throw out the seeds again, I'll bet. :D

Hey, lets get some Fall recipes goin' here. Maybe Yvsa will even re-post his infamous Chili Verde. If we ask him nice, that is ;)
 
you don't have to tell me, I am a sunflower seedaholic but this time of year I usually switch to the pumpkin seeds for a couple months
