Pumpkin carving

You eat the trimmings along with the pumpkin. My wife is taking notes on your dish and I know where some pumpkins are available. So, we'll try it. Your deer meat looked to be ground. I can dice up some. How long do you bake it? DM

I like baking pumpkins.
I use 2.
I add a bit of sage breakfast sausage as venison is so lean.
And I add fresh mushrooms as I like em.

Hope this helps.
It's pretty good.
I encourage you to try it.

Edit.
The notes in ink were from trying to increase ingredients for a large pumpkin.
The pencil notes at end are the way I do it now, after many years of doing this.

Thanks.
Sorry, not trying to make this a cooking thread, but I'm always interested in ways to cook game so I thought I would share......

Whatever you like.
I had some puffball I blanched and froze from earlier this fall, along with some portabella they had at the store.

David, you are from Arizona. Baking meat and seasonings in a pumpkin, actually a squash, is a tradition for the Navajo. I'll see if I can find a recipe or two. Of course you live in a different part of the state, not Navajoland.
