This post is to answer Wunderbar's question. I have the Sizzle and know what size the Heat is. This knife's size falls between those two. It's the perfect size for me. When I recieved my Sizzle, I was shocked at how small it was. Even though it's measurments are 3" handle and 2.5" blade, it's just a TINY knife.

*the Blaze is(with a tape measure): handle-3.75". blade-3.00" long. making it 6.75" overall. there is a major difference in the size of the Sizzle and the Blaze. The build of these knives seem to be identical, size being the only difference.

*first impressions of the Blaze:
1- seems to be a nicely made knife for it's price range.
2-This could be the sharpest out of the box knife i've ever had.
3-Robo action is quick, but requires a fair amount of force to get started, but not bad. The hand guard acts as a "flipper".
4-it has a "nested" liner lock that seems to work well. Pases the Spine-Wack test and because of dual steel liners, seems to be ok in the torque test.
5- haven't used this AUS8a blade yet, but my Sizzle has the same steel, and holds up as good as any AUS8a from any other manufacturer.

* I got this knife from a sporting goods store, Gander Mountain.

Hope this helps you out. Walter

FullerH, it is tip down only, but reversable. The liners don't go to the end of the handle and the Zytel is thined at the end so tip up is not going to work.

:) :) I may actually buy an openning assist knife! I really like the looks of the Blaze and the Sizzle. ;)

FullerH, i really like this Blaze. The Sizzle is WAY to small for my taste, and I like small knives! The Blaze is the best handling A/O knife I've used. I like it so much, I'm going to handle a Heat tommorrow. I like it when a manufacturer uses the thumb studs as blade stops. Keeps the studs out of the way of cutting.

*my Blaze came in a clam-pack that opens so you can touchie-feelie. :)

The size of the sizzle is perfect for one who works in a federal building. The law limits knife carry in a federal building to 2 1/2".

Wwells20, I just picked one up also. I then turned around and traded it for the Heat. The Blaze was a tad too small for me. I can't imagine how small the Sizzle is. I just love the Heat. I like it much more than the Dominator.

Wunderbar, (LOL) If you think the Blaze is a tad to small, you would think the Sizzle came with a G.I. Joe action figure!! There's something like an inch difference in the overall length of the knives, but it's a world of difference in the size of the two.

Walter.
