Back in early December I posted a thread asking for information about this knife as it was one of 4 knives I was considering buying. I ended up with the Fox/Citadel Deimos folder, which has been in my pocket ever since it arrived. But the Threat remained in the back of my mind.........until tonight when I pulled the trigger on one.

This is a pic I captured from the internet and is the knife I'm speaking of.

So far my search has turned up info on the Triple Threat folder but not the Threat folder. If I understood it correctly there were 500 of each folder produced, and they are midtech knives. I understand that the Triple Threat was more popular due to the blade grind, but I would think the Threat to be the better cutter due to it's single blade grind. And I really dig the short (3.5") clip point/spear point blade. The blade is D2 at 60RHC, .150" thick, with a overall length of 8.1", and at 6.4 ounces a short, stout folder just like I like'em!!:) The liners are stainless steel and look to be at least .080" thick, if not a tad thicker, think liners on the ZT0200 which measure at .080" thick. Hopefully I will have it Wednesday/Thursday and will do a first impressions thread, along with some of my sweet cell phone pics:eek::rolleyes:

But the main reason for this thread is to see if there are any Threat folder owners out there that can give me some info on what to expect. So if you are out there.........

Ok, apparently no Threat owners out there. Anyone own the Triple Threat that can give me any opinions? I am guessing that they are the same frame, just different blade grinds. Just wondering if these are well built and if they operate well with solid lockup, centered blades, just the stuff we OCD knife owners always look for in our knives.

Really want someone to tell me I done good:(;)

I had a early triple threat folder. Strong, smooth, early lockup with zero rock lock or play. I think you will be pleased. I have owned or still own five of Jason's folders and all have been excellent. The mini division is the flipper I currently measure all others against. I don't believe you have anything to worry about, and Jason has done a lot of growing up and seems to be running his business well.

BTW, remember he uses d2 so wipe down your blades or they will stain if that sort of thing bothers you.
