Okay, I may have just started a VERY expensive hobby / addiction!

I've always been knife / gun guy, but earlier this week was the first time I took the step to buy a Sebenza 25 after reading and watching as much review as possible for the last 6 months.

I received my Sebenza 25 on Friday, and it has been on me for last 48 hours... Then I saw another 25 for sale, and I just sent PayPal payment to buy my Second Sebenza 25! My logic is that I will use the one that I received on Friday as EDC, and the one I just bought will be kept for my son until he is old enough. (oh, he is two years old...)

I am truely impressed with the Sebenza 25!

That's a fine choice you made there, there's no doubt they will serve you well. I just love the two 25's I have. Don't understand your logic for getting the second one though, keep telling yourself that, unless you are going to have a bucket load of kids, you're on your way to want to possess more CRK's, it truly is a sickness. I have several other CRK's as well.

Shhhhh....it's still as you said; Justification for acquisition..Next thing you know..He will have knives for future kids :) Nothing wrong with that if you can swing it by the wife. My wife sees the knives I buy and asks about it..Oh? That? It's one that's been sitting in the safe for awhile...Good thing "awhile" is vague enuff to not make me feel bad.

Bhyde, my wife and I are working on our second kid. But I will promise not to get another one until the second one is born! Man these knives are just awesome!

But I have to admit that trying to open the knife on first day was a pain in my thumb! I don't know if I am opening it "correctly" now, but I can finally open it with one hand now. I wish I had longer weekend to practice opening my sebenza.

By the way someguy744- Welcome to BF and the sickness

Do yourself a favor right now. Make no promises :) It's easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission (in this case, try to explain the growing collection despite the promise)

I think the major issue with opening the seb is the resistance to "push" rather "swing" in an arc. When you push the pivot, you influence the opening, but the resistance is longer because pivot is stationary with a lateral force.
Example; With the scales at 90 degrees (12 O'clock), pushing up requires much more force to open, but if you push to 180 degrees (9 O'clock) and then swing around the pivot counterclockwise with your thumb, then you will notice a difference. Note: If you are left handed, then 180 degrees would be mirrored to be 0 degrees (3 O'clock)

I do note that this is tougher to accomplish with the 25 I recently acquired. Probably needs more use.

Congratulations!!! Great knife the 25!
Last month I picked up a used large Sebenza 21, and less than a week later got a new 25...
And now I want another large 21..................................

bhyde, thanks for the tip on opening the Sebenza!

416, nice Sebenzas! I will post pics of my 25s when I receive my second. I don't want the first one to feel lonely in a picture by itself, nor the second 25 to feel left out, ha ha.
