Well it arrived and I now have two new things. The first thing is a new favorite kukri which just so happena to be this Yek Chirra, or what I call the "light saber". The second thing I have is a new favorite kami. I can't stress enough how high quality his work is. Seamless comes to mind, perfect balance, perfect polish, perfect angles.

This thing has the nicest set of curves this side of my wifey;). 17in 30oz perfection... The weight is hidden th great effect by the handle shape and curvature. The karda and chakma are AWESOME!! It's got the largest Karda I have received with any kukri, the chakma isn't far behind. The spine is rounded instead of having a V shape, and the sides of the spine are blended and polished smooth to the touch. This thing is slick! Uber cool and uber sexy.

I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story. It has far surpassed my Thamar Dui Chirra as my favorite all around kukri. It's more like a work of art, I can't take my eyes of of it. Oh yeah I almost forget, he sharpened it to a hair splitting edge. He didn't miss a thing. Please let me know what you all think.

beautiful work, really look forward to getting my own, purna is fast becoming the new prince! his kami mark is so cool!

First time I've seen his actual mark. Probably the most complicated and detailed mark I've ever seen.

Very nice looking knife. Another one I'd love to hold for sure. Bet it feels beyond awesome in hand.

Definitely looking great! At first i was skeptical about how acutely the front of the pommel curves up like that, but the in-hand picture looks like it absolutely locks it into your grip solidly! I'm loving how new kamis Purna and Thamar are cranking out these curvaceous beauties lately! But one thing i haven't been so thrilled about as of late is the use of an electropencil for the kami marks and devanagari characters. It looks so much better carved in rather than dotted in. Otherwise, these khuks have never looked better!

I'm also curious how the new kamis have handled the heat treat of these works of art. I have two curve spines from Thamar and i can't bring myself to taking them out and whaling on them to test them out. I suppose i should get around to that sooner rather than later.

I dont think its an electro pen. Maybe im wrong? More like a centerpunch. They are punching pretty deeply. Ill have to agree with you there though I like the carved out better as well. Maybe the punching is easier?

yeah it is cooler because it is harder to do, I think people naturally feel that, that is why we all love HI blades, they are hand made and take great effort

Hey, try the outhouse kami mark sometime. I must of spent 3 or 4 minutes on that with an exacto knife.

Quality has no time boundaries.

GB.....your pictures show the true craftsmanship, it looks great, and now its another blade and kami that goes on my "to get list"....thanks a lot...:p

It really is stunning, and I can't wait until I can get one in hand.
