Hey guys,

I just found my old purple benchmade leopard. It sat for a long time and is still unused. I looked online and I cant find any information on them or even a picture. I'm wondering if anyone can give me any info on the rarity of them or how many were made. Also if anyone has any idea on the value please share.

Heres a few pics

Any information is really appreciated.

I can tell you that I have hardly ever seen this model. What steel is it?

The Leopard was one of my first Benchmades, bought almost 15 years ago. I have seen standard models in silver anodizing and black anodizing, I don't know anything about other colors. If you have the box for it there is probably a special number on the box that you could use in your searching.

The black and silver Leopards are somewhat rare right now but they do show up for sale occasionally. They don't seem to be worth any more than any newer Benchmade that is comparable.

I believe both of mine use ATS34, as do the AFCK's in the photo and probably the 690.

The Leopards were made in a few different handle colors, Blue, Purple, Red, Green, and maybe 1 or 2 more. I don't if there was any special production numbers, but they were a hard sell. They might of been a special for the Edge Co. of Vermont, because they were the biggest retailer of them for a long time, either that, or they bought up the dead stock.

Edge Co was also the source for a golden rainbow anodized Leopard and #32 Butterfly with the same treatment.

From what I've seen, the colored Leopards are actually still a little less collectible than the plain versions.
