Purses With Deep Vertical Pocket To Hold Surefire P3X Tactical?

My wife carries a Surefire P3X Tactical flashlight (6.6" long) loose in her purse. It's completely "twisted off" so the thumb button doesn't accidently turn the light on in her purse for an extended time period (1,000 lumens can start a fire) We are looking for a decent purse with a deep vertical pocket that can securely hold the P3X, thumb button up, to mitigate the risk of turning the light on in the purse. Then the P3X can be "twisted" on to the point to make the thumb button operational in one step instead of two after drawing the P3X. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I've never been married, so if this is completely out of the question for your wife, please forgive me... would she change to a nylon bag similar to the JanSport bag I use to transport my G17 and trauma kit?...the Surefire 6P is 5" and I had to block part of the partition to let it sit high, and assuming the bezel of her light is approximately the same diameter it would easily accommodate a 6 1/2 inch light

Get a hard shell flashlight holster like this one, carry it loose in the purse.

les, that looks perfect to me! Outside the purse for even faster draw. I understand my opinion about this subject doesn't count :)
piso, good idea. Unsnapping and drawing from the hard shell holder is much faster than trying to "twist on" the light to the point where thumb button is activated.
otter, thanks for the tip. We'll look at saddleback leather.

Great recommendations. I'll show her tonight. If there are any more, please post. Thank you very much.

Piso, my wife likes the hard shell flashlight holster option. Then she can carry the flashlight with an active thumb button in any of her purses. Having trouble finding one for the relatively large Surefire P3X Tactical (Length 6.6" and Bezel Diameter 1.31") Which brand is the picture above? Thank you for the great idea. Any others would be greatly appreciated.

Which brand is the picture above?

Gould & Goodrich. They make four sizes but no dimensions online, and their will-fit list is for pistols and magazines. If you're interested, get the catalog numbers and call them.

No experience with this brand but they have basket weave which sounds nice.

Depending on where you live, it might be simpler to visit a big uniform store that sells cop gear.

Try asking some of the leather workers here to whip you up something nice. I'm sure you or your wife would be very impressed.

Thank you, rev. We found putting a Glock 27 magazine holster like a "hard shell sleeve" over the thumb button (1" diameter) side of the Surefire P3X works well. Good retention which also provides ample space between thumb button and bottom of G27 magazine. Not pretty but functional. Here's the link to the G27 magazine used. Thanks to everybody for the ideas.
