Push dagger image request

Hi all
This is the first post I have made but I wonder if anyone can help...

I have written a book that features a push dagger and I need an image to go on the back cover of the book. Initially I used an image from Cold Steel Blades but that was just a few copies for my family. Now the book is starting to sell more widely I would like to get get permission for any images I use. I emailed Cold Steel but haven't heard back from them so I need a new image for the back cover. I saw a beautiful image of a Larry Fuegen push dagger on this site, but likewise I haven't heard back from Larry as to whether or not I could use it. Mark Strauss of Knifeology was kind enough to offer some of his images but the only ones I could find were taken at a slight angle. So my question is this...

Does anyone have an image of a push dagger that they would allow me to use on the back cover of my book? The image needs to be taken square on to the knife and not at an angle. I would be happy to include a credit and a free copy of the book to anyone who could help me out.

I have included a link to an earlier thread where I first saw the Larry Fuegen image, originally posted by Peter Gill. An image like this would be perfect.

If anyone could help they can contact me here or at: the_flanston@hotmail.com

Many thanks
Peter

Look up push daggers on Wikipedia. Anything on there should be free to use, unless it specifically says not to copy it.

Because nothing says your book is reputable like using a cover picture from Wikipedia :p

That's simply not true. Using any image (other than one you took yourself) for a published book, website, etc. without permission is very unwise. Just because it doesn't have a watermark or disclaimer on it doesn't mean it isn't copyrighted.

Thanks guys
@Thrustus... Yes that is a nice piece. Thanks for that
@Grease... nice idea, but I'd like to get permission just to be on the safe side
@Kreole... lol
@James Terrio... I think you are right. I would buy one and take a pic myself but I believe push daggers/knives are illegal here in the UK :(

Thanks for the comments and if anyone has a push knife and would be willing to take a half decent phot... ;)

Peter

Talk to Charlie Mike, he does a good number of Push daggers, as for a pic, I can email a few of mine.

Thanks Brets-ftw
That's really kind of you. If you have any shots looking straight on to the knife I'd love to take a look at them...

Feel free to use any pics of my punch knives.

Hey Jack Black
The book's called First and Only by Peter Flannery. It's doing pretty well on Kindle, specially here in the UK. Kindle books only show the front cover but now I've started to sell a few paperbacks outside of my family circle so I need to change the back cover before I get sued by Cold Steel:eek: Hence the need for a new image. Unless anyoen happens to know the guys at Cold Steel ;)
