Hey everyone. Anyone have any ideas about a highend push dagger? Price range from 2-3 hundred bucks. I have talked to the guys from Merc Worx but im not ready to give them my credit card number just yet. Like to check out some othe other makers first. I did order a Bowen belt knife today just for fun. Banger

The only high-end push dagger I've run across, outside of customs, is the Benchmark Kuma Zume. It has been out of production for years, although there was a rumor that it was coming back.

I'd like to recommend something that is not a push dagger, but offers similar capabilities... Take a look at the HideAway Knife. It is the best production design I've seen for making a blade into a direct extension of your fist. And the implementation is all no-compromise top-end quality in both materials and construction.

I've practiced punching with mine against various targets and the results were impressive.

For 300 you can get a custom push dagger. However if you plan to really use a push dagger, the cold steel versions are a lot cheaper and will cut just as good. Beware, push daggers, when concealed, are probably universally illegal since its a concealed weapon. When not concealed, they are illegal anywhere dirks and daggers are illegal, which is most of the US.

how do u guys feel about a "push tanto"? i'm working on the design right now (knifemaker is anonymous for now)... would have the americanized tanto blade profile with a swedge on the spine. my problem is i'm trying to decide on a symmetrical or asymmetrical handle... thoughts? sorry if i'm hijacking this thread... price would be around right in the ballpark of what Banger's looking at. 3" blade, steel is S30V that is tentatively starting at a width of 5/8".

The older CS push daggers, made out of 440C are good, relatively inexpensive, and one of them, called the Defender, is single edged. They're discontinued, but they're around.

Bquinlan : I think the push knife you are thinking of is really a Benchmade Kuma Zuma. I had one for a few years. They were single edge, were produced in both serrated and plain edge. Mine was a plain edge. I liked the design of the knife, but The kydex sheath would let the knife slip out sometimes. I cannot believe I was not cut or stabbed by my own knife. After a few times of getting loose; It became a box queen. I finally tradded it for a safer benchmade

How the heck did I manage to type Benchmark? Yes, you are entirely correct, it was made by Benchmade. I owned one for a while. Good knife and the sheath on mine worked fine.

while not a push dagger the amoeba by bud nealy is pretty similar and is also my fav edc fixed blade, i have the G10/ATS34 version but he does make a CF handle/damascus one also, i like them myself. wish i woulda got the damascus one, darn it.

imho it will do most a push dagger will/but is also a lot more utilitarian also.
