I got a new fleshing knife. Brushed my hand against it and that fast: needed 13 stitches.

So how do I protect this blade? I want something I can keep on When I'm

using it as the "non sharp side" is used 95% of the time.

Thank you.

Tape and cardboard or perhaps you could modify one of the sheath designs used for draw knives. Also Wusthof, Messermeister, and some of the kitchen cutlery companies make plastic edge guards that might work with some modification.

my first thought was a guard like I have on my mitre saw

but came across this as well - wax paper and plastidip

Thanks!

How about using the prison method and shoving it up your...wait, this isn't W&C? Ummm...then Marcis' idea sounds good.

I'm thinking you could mold a piece of kydex over it with an opening at the back. No rivets, it would cover the blade and look good.

This is definitely the "executive solution." I just need to figure out Kydex but yes. Thank you.

Kydex is easy and fun. Get it at Tandy Leather. Use an electric heat gun and gloves. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
Just a heat gun ? That would be great . I thought I'd need an oven and press etc ? The wife would kill me if I used any of her ovens ! ;)
