Put my Pen Knife to the test last couple weeks

I've been on vacation in Eastern Washington. Semi camping, had a small cabin, a travel trailer, electricity etc but still did most everything outside.

I brought along my Pen Knife to see if how good a camp knife it really is. I found that being hot, I usually didn't have my belt knife on (no belt), I brought a small neck knife for fishing mostly but usually it wasn't on me either. What was always with me was the Pen Knife. I put it in the little pocket in the back of my chair. It was kind of funny, anytime someone needed a piece of string cut or rope etc and asked for a knife, it was all I could come up with.

It indeed makes a great camp knife. I was of course reluctant since it's so gosh darn pretty but I chopped kindling for a fire with it, whacked off some pretty good size branches on dead logs to burn. I'd heard a guy mention flipping pancakes once and one rainy morning cooking outside under a blue tarp (on an electric grill, blasphemy), I did indeed flip some pancakes and it worked super.

Sliced up a watermelon, sliced sausage, even carved some sticks to roast marshmellows, it did it all in fine fashion and is none the worse for wear. A couple tiny, tiny little rust spots showed up on the end of the blade but no concern. If I can't clean them up I'll consider them character marks.

Wish I'd brought my 18" AK, a couple people saw me take the first swing to split some kindling and they were quite surprised how well it worked. I told them that was nothing, if I had my AK I could be splitting logs better than they were doing with a small hatchet.

Our friends daughter is a chef and she liked it a lot too. She knows knives. I told her I'd try to get her one sometime in the future.

The aforementioned Pen Knife after I checkered the handle to eliminate slippery.

Same Pen Knife after I wrapped the pretty checkered horn handle with para cord cause it just was too slim, still pondering a better solution but it works well.
Don't have a solo picture, it's the one on the bottom of course.

Next on the want list the Steely Gunz, Mini AK Bowie, want list does not appear to be getting smaller, no matter how hard I try to control it.

How heavy is your pen knife? I have a 12" pen and it seems so light and thin (compaired to my other HI blades)

Mine is 12" also. I don't have any good way of weighing it. It does feel very light compared to the others for sure. After using the Pen Knife I think my Trisuli Ghaule would be a great knife, size and weight wise. I don't recall it's weight either but it feels just right in hand. Splitting kindling, the Pen Knife took a bit of getting used to, almost too light, but didn't take long to adapt and I'm happy to report no loss of blood, fingers, or other body parts.

And even after what I consider heavy use for it's size it's still near shaving sharp.

Wow, once I turn old enough to work (not even a month! It's an excruciating painful wait.) And I start to rake in da $cashmoney$ this will definitely be on my list of knives to order! Do you think you could post some in depth specs and a few more pics from different angles. :P it's so purdy two pictures hardly do it justice!

Mine is 12" and just over 12oz. It's a nice knife just a lot smaller than my other HI blades. The handle is really small, it would make a great boys knife.

Good eye Karda! That's the last one I had Auntie send me. It's a heavy beast of a blade but it shore is pretty. Chopper extraordinaire that one. If it don't get the job done, nothing will.
