Put the Spyderco catalogue on website

I've seen a really nice Spyderco catalogue on display at a local store. This catalogue has large (approx. 8 x 10") pages, and is in colour. I wish Spyderco would put this catalogue up on their website for everybody to see. The existing Spyderco website is okay, but kind of bland. Adding this catalogue would be an improvement over what they have up there now.

So hows about it youse guys?

This was the subject of a thread on the Spyderco website forum. The consensus seemed to be that as you point out, the current site is not all anyone might want it to be.

I forwarded the idea that they put their catalog in PDF format so that it could be downloaded and perused at leisure.

Others suggested that there should be a way to enlarge the photos (ala Knifeart website).

A number of us suggested that all fixed blades should be shown with their sheaths (this is true for all websites).

Sal just said it was "in process".

Hmmm.. There's an on-line catalog on Spyderco's website. You can also request for a printed copy from customer service.. ;)

I recently sent off for some info on the Spydie collector's club. When I received the info a few days later, lo and behold, I also received the 2002 Spyderco catalog.
So I'm sure that if you call and ask, you shall receive. :D

Mailing out catalogues is expensive and kind of wastefull. A printed catalogue is nice to have, but putting it up on the website would let a lot of people see it, seemingly at small cost. The catalogue I'm talking about is not the small booklet. The pages in it are around 8 x 10" in size, and the whole thing looks very nice, quite impressive. I'll just have to wait for the "process".

FYI, that is the Dealer's catalogue.

Correction to earlier post, the book I have is the 2002 Dealer catalog. Just FYI. Nice catalog with plenty of great pics, anyway.:D

Then put the Dealer's Catalog up on the website for everyone to see. Process shmocess. Phooey. I'm going to feed my Neopets.

putting the catalog online, with a downloadable pdf file is a great idea, i mean i get the printed versions but i end up losing them or i can't figure out where i placed them when i want to look at them so it's better for me to see a online version

. . .additionally, if I can download a PDF Spyderco catalog to my laptop, I can show off Sal's wares to my friends when I'm not able to connect to the internet (and spread the Spydie word).

:D

Hiya,

We're working on putting the catalog up in a PDF format. I'll give y'all heads up when it happens. Meantime, if you'd like a hardcopy format email me a physical mailing address and I'd be happy to plop one in the post for you. jlaituri@spyderco.com

I should probably clarify here...the catalog I have to mail out is the consumer catalog. It has all the same images and tech specs as a dealer catalog, just doesn't include information on becoming a dealer and is in a smaller format.

Thanks Joyce! An email is on the way to you with my catalog request.:).
