putting the 25 together...

Okay, so taking the 25 apart is pretty straight forward. What is very tricky, is putting the thing back together. If trying to go about it the regular sebenza way as shown on the chris reeve site and one of the stickies I believe, you run into a problem. The washer on the lock side has a tab that needs to fit into a small hole inside the handle, so that needs to be installed before the blade goes in.
Then, without the pivot in, the washer can slide just a hair and actually get pinched by the lock bar, so the pivot seems to need to also be in before installing the blade.
But, maybe its just me, and I have been known to not know what Im talking about, but it seems the only easy way and safest for the washers, is to install the blade when the front of the knife is off, and put the blade onto the back(lock side) handle. Then, you can put the front handle on carefully, and make sure all lines up and tighten down.

Please let me know if there is an easier way to do this. As i said, the way that works and everyone seems to use for the 21 doesn't seem to work for the 25.

I am sorry if this has been asked before, but with a bit of searching I only came across tips for the 21. Couple of take down vids of the 25, but nothing really for putting it back together, and i don't see any mention of the 25 in this manner on the CR site.

I guess its not that big of a deal, it just seems you have to be a bit more careful and make sure all is lined up doing it this way.

Again, i may be totally wrong all together. But, trying it the regular way, even with the one tabbed washer installed in the handle before installing the blade, just wasn't really working out for me.

thanks for any advice.

dave

btw, I LOVE this knife!

Since there is a simple "proper" method for the 21 with a sticky. And by simple I mean could not be any easier.
Maybe somebody with a 25 will do a pic by pic sticky. This seems common enough. I would If I had one. Can somebody make a picture sandwich.
I have yet to see one totally taken apart and put back together. Not that I would have trouble. I just like to see parts.

Yes, sandwich style and leave the screws in the stop pin (assuming yours doesn't have a press fit pin) and the lanyard pin on the lock side. If nobody has done it by the next time I clean and lube I'll take pictures of a step by step.

You put the Sebenza 25 back together the way do any other frame lock. The 21/Classic is the only knife I can think of that can be put together with the handles already assembled.

A tip that helps is to put some CRK grease on the washers to minimize the amount of movement when reassembling the knife. And like others have said, the "sandwich" method works best for the 25. Now I am hungry too...
