After a hot day at work yesterday, some friends and I went to the river for a little relaxation. Well, relaxation for me includes building a fire
so I gathered up some firewood and built myself a little fire. I did a little bit of batoning to get some small enough kindling, and I decided to use my MBC (even though I had my NMFBM with me). I started with some small driftwood
Then moved on to some slightly larger wood after I had the fire started
After a few whacks with a baton (seen in the bottom right corner of the above pic) I had some decent sized kindling
Then I got to enjoy my small fire for a little while
All in all, the MBC did a good job on fuzz sticks and while batoning I wasn't worried about the tip at all. Granted it wasn't knotty hardwood, but it is what I had. A nice relaxing end to a long hot day at work.
