Putting together a small survival pack.

So since joining BF I've decided it'd probably be a good idea to put survival pack together. I'm going to use a Otte rBox 2000 to store it all. I'm looking for suggestions on what to add or lose.

Here is what I've got so far
Otter Box 2000
Light My Fire Army Firesteel
Rat Fire kit
Either matches or a Bic light
Inova Microlight led
Victorinox Electrician Plus ( I picked this because it has the saw and the electricians blade looks handy for detail work and striking firesteels.)
Doug Ritter Pocket survival pack
550 cord wrapped around the outside of the Otter Box

I'm thinking I should probably throw in a decent compass. Plus something for signaling.

Don't forget water purification, some tablets and something to boil in go a long way. Some fatwood would probably be worthwhile too.

Personally I have found spreading stuff out on my person lets me carry more than placing everything into one container. And it means I'll actually carry it.

For instance my whistle and small light are on my key ring. My fire kit is a small knife w/fatwood/jute/firesteel all together that rides in a separate pocket.

This leaves much more room in my altoids kit for first aid stuff, cord, as well as an oven roasting bag with water purification tablets.

Also, put in a couple of "neo to go" packets and 2 bandaids. You can use it as an antibiotic and a firestarter.

I've never worried about fishing kits, I dont intend to be out that long, but fishing line is nice to have.

I would add:

Katadyn MP1 purifacation tablets.
Signal mirror, one that has a aimer on it.
somthing to hold water in.
And for a compass, Suunto A-30, it rides in my PSK and has held up well.

Oh, and one thing I like to make my kits around are the water proof bags you can get, not only are they water proof from rain and what not, but they hold water in, so you allways have a place to put water to purify it.

I would toss in some jute twine for tinder.
(or if you want to go the spread around your EDC route, i made some into a bracelet...)

The awl on my SAK makes a perfect striker btw, and it saves your blades.
