I am interested in acquiring a puukko knife. I was wondering if you gentlemen could help steer me in the right direction. I know of Eric Bergland and love his work, but who are some other makers of these Finnish knives? I would appreciate it if you could give me their names and contact info. Pictures of their work would be great too. Thanks for everything.

So you want a Puukko? I fell in love with the beautifully simple symetry myself several years ago. I suggest you consider buying from a country of origin...Finland, Norway or Sweden. Visit this site for a taste of real Nordic knife craftsmanship.

http://www.brisa.fi/start3.html

The site was created by Dennis Holmbacka. One of nicest people in the whole world. He not only sells his own knives but offers those from Puukko makers around the world...even a few Americans.

You want to try making your own? He'll sell you everything you need including a unique selection of truly custom nordic blades. He also has tutorials!

Visit his site and I guarantee you'll spend several hours looking at all the knives, knife makers and other interesting stuff.

If you sign his guest book, tell him Richard sent you!

Knives by various scandanavian knifemakers are very popular. Several of these makers are making some really amazing folders. Swedish knifemaker Roger Bergh makes some really nice puukko style fixed blades. You can see his work and others at custom knife sites like www.nordicknives.com
www.knifeart.com
and www.arizonacustomknives.com

Search by Knife Type and go to the Scandanavian knives section.

Unfortunately, all three of these places seem to be out of stock right now...

Viper, you can't advertise here, so your reply is being removed from the thread.

I saw Jonny Walker Nilsson's work at the last New York show.
Amazing attention to detail.Pictures cannot do it justice.

Jonny-if you read this;send more pieces for the next N.Y.show.
You were sold out in 2 hours.
