Puukko making (WIP)

Hello , I would like to share with you pictures from the making of one of my knives. I really love watching videos and pictures of work in progress and it's one of the things that made me start knife making , so I decided to make one myself. The steel is K510(silversteel) the handle is brass and rosewood I hope that you will enjoy it.

Looks great. I've not tried a rhombic ground knife.

I've done thin stock with convex edge and a Yakut style in the forge.

Maybe I need to try a rhombic grind.

Making the wood core sheath was definitely different than my normal all leather sheaths.

One key aspect isn't clear. Did you retain the shape of the tang, which the last image of the bare blade shows as an extension of the rhomboid blade? Or did you flatten it to make the guard fit-up easier?

Bigfattyt You should try rhombic ground blade , it's a lot of fun

Yes Richard , I retain the crossection of the tang the same as the blade. I only slightly taper it . I have worked with some blades made by Finnish puukko makers and some of them are flattened , other are like mine.
