Hi Guys,

Below are some pics of the custom puukkos (including damascus ones) that I took pictures of when Pekka, Marya and I met in Lahti (we never got to go to Heimo's shop due to time constraints). They are real beauties, but either not for sale, or too expensive for me

Needless to say, BEAUTIFUL! Holding that large damascus blade in my hand - it was so heavy and wonderful to hold - better shut up or I'll have everybody in the state I'm in after holding it.

The third grouping of blades (below) are the puukkos I brought back. Below the picture, labeled 1 through 6, are the descriptions of the blades.

According to the other thread about the puukkos, here's who I have down as expressing interest in them:

1. Coyote
2. Blackdog
3. Mike L
4. RA Carignan
5. Marcus
6. Kozak
7. Shrike 9

Since I only have 6 (besides the one Pekka gave me as a gift, which I won't sell), there won't be enough to go around this time. However, once I get y'alls input on price, quality, "worth-the-price-ness" and other comments, I may start bringing them in with every shipment of smoker bags I get from Finland (see the cystern website for more details about that).

So, those mentioned above, please, in order, pick the one you want, and then send me a check (credit card via telephone is also fine).

1. The Bearclaw: 60mm blade, 165 overall. Steel: Ultra High Carbon (UHC) Roselli steel. Method of manufacture: Proprietary Process. Carbon content: 1.5 - 2.0 %
PRICE: $65.00 (shipping included).

2. The Carpenter: 85mm blade, 195mm overall.
Steel: UHC. Method of manufacture: Proprietary Process. Carbon content: 1.5 - 2.0 %
PRICE: $85.00 (shipping included).

3. The Carpenter: 85mm blade, 195mm overall.
Steel: Wootz Damascus. Method of Manufacture: Hand Forged. Carbon content: 1.5 - 2.0 % Please note: Although this steel is Wootz Damascus, it does not contain significant damascus patterning on the surface. These knives sold for over $300.00 when the first run (numbered) was sold. This is an un-numbered version. The steel's operational advantage (according to Roselli and some old Bladeforums threads) is great edge retention. PRICE: $150.00 (shipping included).

4. The Hunting Knife: 105mm blade, 230mm overall. Steel: Krupp High Carbon (Germany). Method of manufacture: Drop Forged. Carbon Content: 0.7 to 0.8%. PRICE: Proprietary Process. Carbon content: 1.5 - 2.0 %
PRICE: $60.00 (shipping included).

5. The Hunting Knife: 105mm blade, 230mm overall. Steel: UHC. Method of manufacture: Proprietary Process. Carbon content: 1.5 - 2.0 %
PRICE: $100.00 (shipping included).

6. The Hunting Knife (identical to #5, but with different handle): 105mm blade, 230mm overall. Steel: UHC. Method of manufacture: Proprietary Process. Carbon content: 1.5 - 2.0 %
PRICE: $100.00 (shipping included).

Whew! That was a long post. Please note that only numbers 3 and 4 are full tang. The others are embedded tang (Heimo guarantees all his blades for 3 years).

In all liklihood, if I start carrying these knives, the price will have to go up (I posted these at slightly below retail because Pekka gave me a discount) and I also didn't have to pay shipping since I hand carried them back from Finland.

Yep I'm intersted in them, only thing is between the WWIII I'm patiently wating on and purchasing a Newt Livesay Woo along with a custom Air Assualt the checkbook (wife)would abuse and missuese me right now (understatement)if I was to purchase even more knives.

Craig, they`re beauties but I better wait until after the WWIII before I buy any more knives...unless I wanna have to sleep on the couch.

If you start importing pukkos I would definitely be interested in getting one of the Hunting Knives (#4 or #5 style).

How much is the larger damascus pukko with the "fancy" butt cap? can you get the same knife in carbon steel?

RdByrd: You don't want to know! It was a "special order" made personally by Heimo (the rest of his pieces are benchmade, or "team-crafted" knives). It was a duplicate of one sold to a collector in Germany. The price was about $1600.00 I think. Now you know why I didn't come back with it (besides, it wasn't for sale).

When they do offer a UHC larger knife, I will start bringing that one in too (if we adopt the line).

Hello, I am going to pass on these knives for various reasons. Thanks for offering them to us. You know how to dig up some good stuff.

Besides puukkos for the workshop or the wet wild wood, Roselli also makes Knives for Cooking With Fire.

Here's his "homage" from one end of the Arctic to the other - an 8" Ulu!

Eveybody: Welcome to James. As you all probably know, he's a Roselli representative (one of the lucky few in the US). If you don't see what you like in my offering of 6, I suggest you visit his site!

James: Mikko showed me all the fun tools (including the hatchet!). I am frankly very fond of knife makers who are so creative.
