I love the Puukko but quite frankly haven't got many. I went the Roselli route and I love the hunter but couldn't love the others. I love the Mora but that isn't really a Puukko per se.

So I am looking really hard at Iisakki Jarvenpaa. The two Puukko set. One 3" and one 5". Very traditional. I would go the carbon steel route probably. The Stainless is 420. I am no steel afficianado but I would, if I could, choose a Sandvik over 420...I think. Ragnar states that some people will resharpen them as they come with a secondary bevel. I like these because the blades are polished, the bigger one has a fuller and they are pretty darned traditional for a modern, production knife...as opposed to the Roselli where you've really got an interpretation of the Puukko, albeit a very good product. Plus the Jarvenpaa set is priced really good for me.

So any love out there for Iisakki Jarvenpaa? Calling all Puukko people.

The couple I have are quite good (both carbon steel).

(I do have a Roselli set composed of a UHC Puukko and carbon Leuku and it's wonderful.)

These are my only IJ's (as I recall):

I have one of their 4" bladed carbon models. Very good knife. I just find that I much prefer a convex over a scandi. So it doesn't get much use.
