Puukko with finger guard

This is my puukko model with a bronze finger guard. Traditional Finnish puukko does not have the guard. However, some present day puukkos have finger guard. The sheath is modern while inspired by medieval style. The handle is made of Curly Birch. I use Lauri’s blades, which are made of 80CrV2 steel and double hardened (edge 63 HRC; spine 50 HRC).

The quality of Curly Birch material varies a lot. If I am not happy with the curly pattern, I will stain the handle red.
