PVD Finish

I just got a new Benchmade Shootout with a CPM CruWear drop point blade with the FlatEarth PVD finish. Love the knife so far. The action is much easier to open and retract than any of my Microtechs or Hogue OTFs. I normally don't like coated blades but this one looks pretty good - so far. How well does a PVD coating hold up under "normal" usage?

lot better than cerakote.....not as good as dlc.

You bought it. Use it. Find out. As everyone has a different definition for words like 'heavy', 'light', 'normal'.

Nice knife, btw.

Like faded jeans, a knife should also look broken in and its luster lost.

I've seen some well used shootout PVD blades. Looks to me like it holds up similar to DLC with use.

Have one with PVD handles that are holding up well.

I've used this PM2 in the warehouse. All marks on the blade cleaned up no problem with a little Flitz after use the day of this photo. No scratches or blemishes.

Coating is solid.......Wipe it down with Mr Clean white pads......Just like new!!
