This looks so cool. I think a PVD treatment is in the cards for my watch. What do you guys think? Is this not sexy?

Put new photos up.

And if you're planning on PVD coating your Rolex, I don't know what to say to that. I mean you could go out and for about 15% of the cost of that Rolex get a brand new watch.

This pic is a little better:

It looks neat, but I'm still not buying it. Remember you can get your Rolex refinished to look brand spanking new. Anything replaced, all the scratches / scuffs gone, the works. If you go off and get the thing PVD'd I don't think that will be an option.

Maybe I'm just not a fan of coatings. :)

I'm just digging the color ;)

I wouldn't let anyone touch my Rolex except Rolex themselves if I owned one, but that's just me.

Want a PVD tough watch check out other brands. That's just me of course, your watch.

That does look pretty good but I woudl have doubts about letting just anyone play with my high end watches.
Who would you get to do it ? Are we talking a proper watch pimper or just sending it off to company that does the coating ?

These are definitly experienced pimpers.

Go for it CM.

Funny, I'm exactly the opposite and Rolex would be my last choice. There are hundreds of Rolex-trained people in the US alone who are qualified to work on the watch. They will charge far less than Rolex itself will to do repairs. The hardest part for the independent repair person is getting parts if needed as Rolex is very reluctant to sell them but it's not impossible.

The company he linked to is very well known in the watch world for doing coatings. I know of several people who have sent their Panerais there to be PVDd. They also do repair service on high end watches.

Exactly! There is a Rolex trained jeweler across the street from me. He loves to work on Rolex because they are so simple. I'm really liking it. Especially because it makes the watch less recognizable as a Rolex. Also, I'm not concerned about resale because I don't ever intend on selling it.
