Q #1: Khukuri fighting style

It occured to me that standard knife-fighting techniques, which employ predominantly smaller, straight-edged or gently curved blades, would not mesh well with the 'backwards,' cranked-blade design of the khukuri...nor with its extra heft.

So what techniques do the Gurkas employ when they use their khukuris? Is there a resource for this 'style' of knife fighting?

There is a martial arts style that is closely linked to khukuris - Bando. You will not find any discussion of it on the net because its simply not their way. To find out about it you need to talk directly with someone involved in Bando. Bill can put you in contact with them. There is a little bit of information in some very old posts on KnifeForums.com in the HI forum. You could try poking about there.

Hi Mike:

Yes, Cliff is correct as usual. If you want to contact some Bando people let me know and I'll put you in touch.
