I purchased a well used Vic classic. The scissors have rolled edges at the tip. When closed, the tip contacts the liners (springs may be more accurate). I guess the damage happens as the scissors snap shut. Does anyone else have this problem?

BTW, the scissors somehow still cut neatly.

This does not sound like anything I have ever encountered on a sak before. I've had all kinds of used classics from TSA sales, but nothing like what you have here. It sounds like maybe the former owner really abused it.

jackknife, thanks for responding to my queries. Do your scissors contact the liners (or spings)?

No, I'm looking down at mine right now, and although the top blade of the scissors where the nail nick is, is a wee bit closer to the liner, they are still mostly in the center. No touching.

Here is what it looks like. When it closes, the scissors hit the springs beneath. It's like they are too long by a couple of mm. Sorry if I was not clear before. There is the chance the damage was caused another way. I'm trying to make sense of it.

Oh, yeah, mine does that. When I close them they rest on the springs, but they don't seem to hit hard enough to bend anything. Just a quirk of the sak that doesn't seem to mean anything. All my scissors hit the spring, but none are bent.

Who knows, maybe the previous owner used the scissors to pry or cut something that was too tough. Thanks for your replies.

Classic scissors normally rest on the backsprings when folded. However, the points of the scissors do not make any significant impact that would cause them to be deformed. They seem to rest on the backspring perhaps along their entire length rather than at the tips.
