The famous REKAT "rolling lock." I think it was the strongest lock design that Spyderco ever tested (AFAIK). Spyderco was going to licence the design and produce their own improved version in knives like the Martial and the Chinese folder. The deal fell through and it never went beyond the concept stage.

I would like to add that REKAT went out of the knife business shortly thereafter. A real shame because the rolling lock had lots of potential. Rumor has it that Benchmade bought the rights to the rolling lock from the now defunct REKAT. I do not know if that is true, but have seen it mentioned from reliable sources.
