Q for Ron on Flash II.

I saw and played with a Flash II at a shop and have a couple questions and comments.

I love the blade on it, a beautifully satin finished flat-ground drop point. I also like the action of the S.A.T. Have there been any tests on the longevity of this mechanism through repeated openings? I hear some of the Speedsafe knives get tired or occasional broken springs through often a year or two's use. Is there a diagram showing the S.A.T. mechanism?

The button lock was seemed almost a type of modified lockback mechanism??

At first I wasn't sure, but I think I may really like this knife, though the handle is thick. It's comfortable in the hand.

Any comments you can give are most appreciated.

Hi James,

Great to hear you like the Flash...you're not the only one. :D

For drawings, we do not have any of S.A.T. ("SOG Assisted Technology"...the assisted openning mechanism) in publication.

For longevity, if there is a problem, the Flash does have (as do ALL SOG products) a lifetime warranty.

The lock release is a piston-type lock...very different from a lockback.

I hope this has helped out. If I've left anything out or if you have any more questions, please let me know.
