Q: Hapstone clamps best practices

I'm coming from a KME system that uses a single screw with self-adjusting jaws and trying to figure out the best practice for tightening/centering Hapstone's 3-screw clamps (which I'm sure would apply to any 3-screw system). After some experimentation I've settled on backing the center screw out most of the way, pinching the jaws with my fingers, and tightening down the front two screws most of the way, then tightening the back/center screw, and then tightening the front screws all the way (if there's still any play). But it's occurred to me that it could be done the exact opposite way! Is there a preferred way to do this?

I don’t have the the large central Y clamp (3 screw), but I basically do the same thing with the angled clamps. Pinch jaws, tighten front screw, snug things up with the back screw.
