I have two Q models that I have no information for. Does anyone know who these were made for or for what occasion? If the photo does not load, one of them is a Jolly Roger and the other looks like a Salmon (fish). Thanks for any help.

Ahhhhh man, that skull 'n' crossbones Q is sweeeeet! Where'd you get that?

I'll beg on my hands and knees for Spyderco to re-release the Q knives...preferably constructed a bit sturdier.

rodh,
I can't help with the ID, but that's the best photo I've seen of the Skull and crossbones or 'jolly roger'. I do hope that someone knows what they are for. I've been trying to document (and collect) as many Q's as I can lay my eyes on.

Hm. I'm new-ish to Spydies, and I've never seen a Q in person before...

Is that a "picklock" type mechanism on the spine there? Do you have to lift that litte wire piece to close the blade, like on an Italian Stiletto?

I don't know what a "picklock" is, but the answer is yes, you have to lift it to release the blade. This is a real "one hand closure" friendly knife.

HOWEVER, although I've never spine-whacked the Q, it doesn't seem extremely sturdy. More for light use: cutting open taped boxes, cutting fishing line, etc.

Nevertheless, I really wish they would bring them back.

Well I have the salmon one and from what I remember hearing the "Jolly Roger" was made for a large knife distributer as a special run. Hope that answers someones question. hehe.
