A friend of mine offered to sell me an Extrema Ratio M.P.C. folder.
Questions:

1. There is an announcement on the ER web

...Extrema Ratio has develop new leaf springs for the locking system of heavy duty folders such as the MPC, Nemesis and Fulcrum Folders.
...
If you own an Extrema Ratio heavy duty folder with serial number between 701 and 1025 (these are knives manufactured between 2003 and 2005) please contact us at the following email adress infowarranty@extremaratio.com

Now, a knife of my friend has 'c0434c' on handle - is that a number I have to compare to serial numbers between 701 and 1025? A leaf spring is BLACK.

2. I have read a lot of threads here, including very important observations by STR - all very positive - however, I read on German Messer Forum reports on occasionally broken SPRINGS on ER Fulcrums! The message on ER web actually sound as a reaction to such reports.

3. I would appreciate much any info that helps me to determine if my friends mpc has a 'suspect' lock or not, and any report/experience/advice from people who own Fulcrum or M.P.C.
STR, Thom Brogan, ...

Thanks for you kind consideration,

Franco

since 0434 is lower than 701 i dont think its one of them.

i have had a MPC and nemisis and liked 'em both a lot, i have never heard of lock problems with ER.
