I will soon be acquiring a pre-production Steel Heart II in INFI. Can anyone (Jerry, Andy, et al)tell me if there are any differences in the pre-production from the regular production Steel Hearts???

Thanks!

If you just bought the one on ebay, are you sure its, INFI? If that is the one the seller told me the knife was made in late 1997. He was under the impression that INFI was the blade coating. If this is the same knife and INFI you got a deal!

If this steel heart is Ebay item number 275080462 then you were just taken for a ride. The name of the seller is Scott Boyett and apparently posted the auction with false info and let it be with no intention of answering emails. I was the first Bidder on this knife (ryuhayabusa) check the bid history. After trying for days to find out if this knife was actually INFI and what it's actual dimensions were I threatened to cancel my bid. Then Scotts mother sends me an email saying she was out of town. Then she said no... Scott was out of town. She took her time answering my questions but finally I made her tell me what the blade was made of. It's A2 my friend. Which is a good steel. But it's no INFI. She said her son was under the impression that INFI was the blade coating. Yeah right. I've found that you can't even find a Busse knife unless you are an informed consumer. This guy probably wanted a steel heart made of INFI and was selling his A2 model to get it. And he lied just to push the deal through. They have almost no feedback on Ebay so starting over wouldn't be a big deal. I'd not pay for it. Tell them they lied in description and if they leave your feedback alone you won't report them to ebay and leave negative feedback for them.

If I'm goin down, I'm takin you all with me!

That indeed was the item! I've been trying to e-mail this guy, but haven't heard back. If I don't hear from him and/or he gives me the run-around, I'll talk to the administrators at ebay.

Thank you, everyone, for the warning! You guys just saved me from a whole lot of heartache (as well as $$$!!!).

Greatfully yours,

Squid

Wouldn't a Steel Heart in A-2 still be worth $200.? What did they originally sell for? Thanks

If anyone is interested in it, they are welcome to contact the seller. I withdrew my bid. Besides, I have a SH on order with Andy!

I wasn't saying that I was being ripped off. I think $200 is a pretty good price on an A2 SH. I was just sort of put off by the fact that the guy didn't know the difference (or did, and didn't say anything).

Knowing if your knife is INFI or A-2 can be determined by a chemical identification test at the Busse Shop.

If you want that done, talk to Jerry or me ahead of time, as we might be able to help you without the burden of shipping the knife.
