Q: requests for opinions/appraisals

I understand that selling in the exchange forums is limited to paid members. I also understand that it's bad form to attempt to skirt the restrictions by posting "for sale" messages that are not labeled as such in other forums.
However, I have some knives that I eventually want to sell, but I don't really know how to price them.

Is it okay to start a topic and ask for opinions on where to start auction prices or asking prices for specific knives, or just in general how much they might be worth to a potential buyer?

The best way to find prices is to watch eBay for identical items or search the forums for past sales.

I think it would be OK to ask about knife values in the General forum. You could even try Bernard Levine's forum for Knife Values and Identification.
