Well I've about given up on finding a resonably priced power hammer, so where can I find a reasonably priced press?

Does anyone have the one Uncle Al sells? What other makes are out there?

Just doing the research right now, so any imput is apreciated.

Thanks,

Will

I wholeheartedly recommend Ron Claiborne's press....have him build one then drive up to Knoxville and pick it up. He is about the best teacher u can ask for.....so your learning curve with the press will be greatly diminished.

Look on Darren Ellis' site http://www.elliscustomknifeworks.com/

There are pics and contact info also.

Hello William,

I have got one of Uncle Al's presses. I would recommend you come up to my place and use it before making up your mind..............but not while it is still 95 degrees everyday :D

Will: I got a listing of all the part you may need to build one. :D :D If you can make a knife you can build a press. :)

Thanks Guys, IG, I could build one, but right now I just don't have the spare time, or the access to cheap steel.

David I'd love to get up to your shop some time and try it out, I've never used a press befor so I'm not a 100% sure how I'll like it compared to a hammer.

I'll Check out the Clayabourn press too.
