I just posted a lengthy review in the Reviews forum, but AAARRRRGGGGHHHH !!! lost my connection as I submitted it.

Here's the down & dirty - I like the styling & feel of the small PG, but I've only had it 3 weeks, used it to open a few packeges, and the lock ... doesn't. All it takes is slight one-finger pressure or a mild finger tap on the blade to move the liner back and close the blade. Only the LAWKS will preven it from closing.

My question - I got it from Smoky Mountain, and they'll take an exchange, or give me a refund - what should I do ? Is this model a poor quality design, or did I just get a lemon ?

I think you got a lemon. I got one yesterday and it works fine. It opens smooth, it is sharp, and the liner lock works fine. I have us it a little and I didn't use the LAWKS. Mine doesn't slip and it closes fine. I think you should exchange it for a new one.

RH, exchange it. The CRKT Point Guard I used to own had no problems at all. Sold it to a friend cheap because he needed a knife for camping.

I had the same problem with a CKRT Kit Carson M-16-03Z and they replaced it. They were real slow however it took 3 weeks. Return it to where you bought it if you can.

I've got a Point Guard, and have no problems with the liner lock at all. You've gotten a lemon. I'm happy with mine, and the lawks is nice!

CRKT products are good. CRKT service is good.
You probably got a lemon - exchange it for another.

So, Chang, where is the "Point Chang" anyway? Is it slated for sometime after the release of the MicroChang and Changbenza?

Exchange for another Point Guard, or C/KFF.

I suspect the liner lock leaf wasn't positioned correctly from the factory. It happens.

Did you buy it from a retail store? If you go for an exchange do a light spine-whack test. The store will frown upon you smacking the hell out of it on their counter but give it about three taps on your knee (careful, don't hurt yourself) and then check to see if there is any slipping of the liner lock.

Unless you're willing to shell out much more, you're not going to get much better than CRKT for the money.
