First regards the 6" blade length. Has any one tried one of these, and if so, whats it like? As i understand it, the Taylor Golden Dragon had a similar blade length. Are the just slow, or does the extra leverage equal things out? They looked cool, but maybe a bit to much.

Second question: as i understand it, BM offered Ti handles as a custom option. If any of you have handled one of these, I was wondering how it compared to the steel version, and more specificaly, to the new 42 (if you've played with one of those).

Lastly, none of the emails i send to BM have the text they left me with when they arrive over there, and consiquently, no one can read or answer them. I know they still do some customs. Any one know what the starting, most basic base price is? Thanks always, E.

I have played with a 5 inch blade and I must say that it must HURT to be the handles of that knife. ot my hands.. the handles themselves. It is really heavy and i wonder if the pins can take it. The Golden Dragon has a wider, thicker blade and tougher pins I think, and thus the knife stands up to all that momentum and leverage. Everytime I flip a 5 incher I am thinking.. oh i feel the handles comign loose by a fraction of a millimeter everytime. Like the BEAR MGC tanto.. they madea bigger knife without considering redesigning the function.. but hell you wont see me turning down a 5 incher no siree!!

I really thin kthat if you were to use Ti Handles, it shoudl be for the 5 ciners. I ahve not been fortunate enough to play with a 6 incher but with stainless handles at the same blade width and pin size that thing is better kept on the shelf, or sent back for refurbishing after a while.

as per your question on the customs. BM closed their doors to customs say 2-3 years ago? and those lucky enough to get their foot in the door (they paid a deposit) are still waiting for their knives. Thew current waiting line is two years and vance and Mrs, DeAsis have their handss full.

The size of balisong you should use depends on the size of your hand. 4" is right for most people. 6" is a big knife and gets very slow unless you have big hands.

BM has offered Ti for quite some time. It has always been a very expensive option. As I recall, it used to add several hundered dollars to the price of the knife. But, it does make the knife considerably lighter and faster. It's also more durable.

BM is not currently taking orders for customs. I am told that they hope to do so again in the future but that they don't currently have the capacity to handle it. The last very limited group of customs they did started in the $500 range.
