Quality eyelets/rivets?

They are painted brass, as are most eyelets. Steel eyelets would split.

I've used those; no problem.

Like John said, they are painted brass. I use them on all my sheaths and they're quality hardware. The paint won't scratch off easily, but will wear and show brass eventually if used. As far as that goes though, they hold up better than anything else I've tried.

Yep, kydex sheaths are usually made for knives that are going to be users and with that use comes wear. Personally, I think when the black wears off and the brass gets a little polish to it from rubbing against your belt, coat, pants, whatever it looks even cooler than when they are brand new. You see a sheath with polished brass eyelets and you know that knife has been around, and that's a good thing in my opinion. It shows that your kydex job has stood the test of time as well.

Go ahead and get 'em. I use 'em and they're great.

Thanks for the response everyone. I'm trying to stray from cheap materials that will not last as they could or should if I ever make someone a knife.

Order placed ; )
