Well, the title of the thread pretty much says it. Are there any other makers of quality khuks besides HI? What about Khukuri House? I know Cold Steel offers some, but I am more interested in the traditional designs.

If you want an authentic Khukuri then HI is pretty much it. I believe the other is no longer in business. Cold Steel's offering are more knives in the shape of a khukuri - not to say they aren't good just not authentic.

What Loki and Jim C said is correct. Bill Martino at Himalayan Imports is the man and the way to go for fine imported Nepalese Khukuris.
Khukuri House is actually the place that Craig Gottleib (sp) got the Khukuris he sold at Gurka House when he was still in business. They actually aren't bad khuks. I have 4 or 5 of them. The fit and finish is not as high end as the HI khuks, but they are not a bad tool as far I have been able to tell.
I am not sure what it would cost you to buy them from Nepal directly, and pay the shipping and import tariffs and all. They may end up close to what you could get a HI khuk for. Good luck in your search!:D Let us know how it goes.

Go to www.actiongear.com And checkout the
Ontario made Kuk they offer. I own one and it
is an excellent value for everyday use to try the kuk
blade style. Sure you can spend more money to buy
a better kuk but for most folk's this on is all they need.
It's that good.
