Does anyone here happen to know of good Germany-based makers of Bavarian Folklore knives?

I would also appreciate understanding the ins and outs of buying such a knife. Thanks.

What is a Bavarian folklore knife?
I was trying to buy a Tashenfeitel(sp?)/ Taschenzaunkerl, but the German river site told me they couldn't sell me one and nobody else could either.

The German word for such a knife is "Trachtenmesser" (folk knife)
Btw: you also need a pair of lederhosen to go with it :)
Thanks for the insight...

When I was 3.5, I received my first ever set of lederhosen and my first ever knife, an (unsharpened) trachtenmesser -- by C. Jul. Herbertz of Solingen, with a 2 5/16" blade, from a shop in Munich. I still have the knife. I'd like to find something a bit larger.

We always called them Jagdknicker or Jagdmesser. Never heard them called a Folklore knife. Puma, Henckels, Wingen, Tiger, Eickhorn, Wusthoff, Hartkopf, Herbertz; all of those brands have made them, and more. You might try FrankoniaJagd, a Bavarian hunting and fishing chain. They sell online.
