Quality of Coast flashlights

I'm looking for a penlight similiar to the Energizer 2xAAA but a bit more robust. This will be a pocket light for walking after dark (urban). I'm on a budget, so I was looking at the Coast G20 penlight. I have no idea what quality Coast flashlights are. My one flashlight (lenser nano) from them went through the wash and died.

I think any light going through a wash has a pretty low chance of surviving. My experience with Coast has been good, but mine (the G10) doesn't make it into rotation much.

Wait just a bit for the 4Sevens Preon P0. It's not a "pen" light, being only 1xAAA and not 2xAAA, but the technology and build will be way beyond anything Coast can offer you, and it's only $25. There's 2xAAA Preon pen lights, but they're more expensive ($45), but even at that price, it's cheaper to buy something nice once than to buy a POS and replace it every time it fails you. And more satisfying and less frustrating. The 2xAAA Preon is also several times brighter.

Coast LED lights are okay, some are better then others. I've had a few over the years and still have some of them. They have a small keychain light that usings 4 button cells that I've had for almost 6 years.. Used to wear it on my keyring then got a Peak LED Solutions light that I'm carrying now. The Coast LED is my night stand light for when need to get up for a drink or rest room break.

The new Mini Mag LED's, Olight I2 Eos and other lights are even better then the Coast lights (regulated, meaning they stay at full brightness till the batteries are almost dead).
