I received a three knife collection of Winchester's as a gift, and they are the 2007 Limited Edition set. One of them is a slippie, another a lockback hunter, and the third a fixed blade. What kind of quality, in comparison to other brands such as case, do newer Winchester slippies have?

I wish I could help, the only Winchesters that I have handled have been the old ones and the Blue Grass Cutlery Runs. (black box)

If you are talking about the black box ones distributed by Blue Grass my vote is :thumbup:. They are very well made.

Newer Winchester marked knives are made in China and distributed by Gerber, I think, and are considered by many here to be some of the lowest quality name brand knives available. I have one that I bought from the local Rural King store that I paid $7.00 for to check it out. Fit and finish was mediocre to poor, blade material is fairly soft compared to the Remington marked china made knife I purchased the same time.
Not a good brand but not saying the knives are not worth having.
(Double negative????)

Since this is a Winchester thread I have a couple of questions I'm sure someone can answer;

- Can the New BlueGrass Cutlery Winchesters be differentiated by the Box they come in? If so, does anyone have a pic of their Boxes?

- Does BlueGrass sell directly to the Public? If not, is SMKW their only Dealer for the new Winchesters?

Thanks in advance.
