Hello all,

I am wanting to purchase an authentic handmade fairbairn sykes.
I have recently discover peter parkinson and have read glowing reviews of this maker.

I am on track with a paul macdonald but does anybody know the actial craftsmanship of a peter parkinson against a paul macdonald?
Last time i looked it up, peter parkinson uses 440c and paul used two other steels.

Random questions: how well made are peter parkinson fs?, how long is the wait for a peter parkinson fs?, and how sturdy is the peter parkinson fs?

Thank you

I own a Parkinson "X" dagger. Nice, but it's not in my opinion up to the quality that I was expecting of a handmade knife. It's a bit small in my hands. The fit and finish are more what I would expect from a production knife. Happy that I bought it-yes. Planning on keeping it-yes.
Waiting on a Paul MacDonald that I've had on order of quite some time. Paul has been great to deal with, but as of right now I cannot speak as to the quality and finish. A friend of mine who collects daggers and has a F/S dedicated website has told me that he's been very pleased with all of the one's he's gotten from him and that is the main reason why I ordered one.
Another really nice F/S knife is made by Hill Knives. Had two of them and donated one to my friend's collection. These are very, very nice. Only complaint that I could say about it is that the tip is a slightly different color than the rest of the knife. Other than that, the fit and finish is on par with what I would expect from a handmade/custom knife.
Hope you don't mind me veering off the question a bit with the Hill, but they are available at this time, with less than 50 of the 250 run still unspoken for.
