Quality of Slasinski Hammer Hawk?

I don't have the hammer hawk, but I do have the Kid's Hawk. It has performed well for light chopping, but I haven't thrown it. It seems durable despite the light weight. My guess is that other Slasinki products would be good also.

Thanks for the response, Mike the Jag.

I know others must have ordered from ragnar before, please give me info on the quality of Slasinski tomahawks.

Thanks again,

Bill

Well, I haven't had much response but I purchased on anyway. I placed an order today for the Hammer pole hawk for $40.00 (S-HA) and a spare handle. Hopefully I will have it next week, and I will try to give it a small review. :footinmou

Yes I did recieve it, it is sharp as hell. It really looks good, I am quite impressed with it. I believe it is worth the price I paid. My advice would be to order some extra handles while you are at it. The hawk head was positioned very close to the end of the handle, a few bad throws left handly any handle showing at all.

Just for your info, the hawk is not heat treated, which is what I would like to do or have done. The salt bath really makes it look antique.

I have only thrown it about 5 times and sticks well, better than my cs trailhawk. I'll try to take some pics today!

The hawk is not heat treated ...??????

Is the head well secured on the handle? I have problems getting CS hawks to stay tight even if i'm just chopping. Please post some pics if you can.

speaking of ragweed forge I just recieved a CS frontier hawk from him today. I was very pleased with it as he was able to give it a mean edge and secure the head on damn well... an added plus is the sharpening managed to remove the ugly TAIWAN stamp on all CS hawks i've seen as well as on their warhammer. throws pretty nice too, i'm a beginner at hawk throwing and am able to easily stick it at 2 rotations first try.

Just a personal preference but wouldn't own a hawk of that shape. I like it rounded up and not straight out; gives you a better chance of still sticking if the hawk rotates a little too much. This is the style I like attached.

kcardwel, that is a nice looking hawk, who makes it and where can I get one? ;)

Yes the hammer pole hawk would be harder to stick than your pictured hawk, but I have had no problems thus far. I have only been throwing hawks for about 1 month and find that it sticks pretty easy once you get your correct distance. It might not stick as well as yours but it's the style I like, in person it looks bad a$$. But that is just my opinion. :footinmou
